SPIRIT Club does not want cost to be a barrier for individuals who would like to participate in our programs. Below are some funding support opportunities for individuals in need.

Arc of Montgomery County Respite
Respite program funding approved for all SPIRIT Club programs. If you’re a Montgomery County resident living at home, you may be eligible to use respite hours as a subsidy toward SPIRIT Club programs.
Eligible groups: Seniors (60+), Adults (18–59), Children & Youth (under 18)

LISS (Low Intensity Support Services) Funding
Maryland DDA’s LISS program supports children living at home with family and adults with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities living independently in the community who are not receiving other DDA support services.

Maryland DDA Self-Directed Services
Maryland DDA supports self-determination and choice through self-directed services, allowing participants to exercise more control over the supports that matter most to them.

Ray of Hope Program (Bello Machre)
Provides funding to people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities for a variety of needs.

Shared Horizons Charitable Fund
Provides funding to people with disabilities who qualify for public benefits and need help purchasing goods and services not covered by Medicaid.

SPIRIT Club Foundation
Provides access to fitness and wellness opportunities for people with disabilities through scholarships and grants. Applications open June 1 and December 1 for a 6-month scholarship or grant.

Department on Disability Services (DDS)
DDS provides services and support for people with disabilities in Washington, DC and oversees the Disability Determination Division for Social Security Disability Insurance claims.

Healthcare plan provider for DC’s Child and Adolescent Supplemental Security Income Program (CASSIP), serving children and young adults with special health care needs.

Rocky Mountain Human Services – Denver Mill Levy Program
Denver mill-levy funds provide individualized supports, including respite, through support plans, individual requests, and community partnerships.
For Denver residents with I/DD of all ages.

Developmental Pathways – Local Unmet Needs
Unmet needs support, provider sponsorships, and mill levy funding as payer of last resort. Includes family support services.

Developmental Disabilities Resource Center (DDRC)
Serves Jefferson, Clear Creek, Gilpin, and Summit Counties by connecting children and adults with I/DD to funding, case management, and support services.
Programs include respite, early intervention, employment, family support, and community engagement. Mill levy funding is available for Jefferson County residents for items/services not covered elsewhere.

Vouchers that let families choose and pay for respite services.
